January 2009 Looking forward to another successful Year for FIRST Thank you mentors, volunteers, students, family, and members of this great community for another successful Granite State Regional FIRST Robotics Competition held at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, Feb. 28-Mar. 1 back in 2008. It was amazing and exciting to once again see our local talented students participate in this team collaboration to build and design their robots and then to see it witnessed by thousands of spectators and through the news media that attended last year’s annual competition. Each year there are many lessons learned that the students take away and build on. BAE Systems is so proud of the creativity and cooperation that is considered for the pursuit of the perfect robot. By stretching your imaginations and learning from mentors in industry, you’ve developed skills you will need to contribute in a world of continuous change. That’s why BAE Systems supports FIRST -- it provides a learning environment for students to confront chalenges, seek solutions, and drive them to reality. FIRST represents a cooperative team effort by teachers and administrators, parents, communities, mentors, and volunteers. Their efforts give the next generation of scientists, engineers, and inventors a unique opportunity to develop their talents, and the confidence to face the challenges of tomorrow. We look forward to seeing you this year for another exciting competition!
